César Ascorra is the national director of CINCIA.

César s a specialist in Conservation in the Peruvian Amazon. he is the winner of the prestigious award: "Carlos Ponce-2010" for conservation, he has led scientific research and policy efforts for conservation in Madre de Dios, since 1986. He has more than 35 scientific publications and presentations, has worked in key roles in influential organizations such as Conservation International, Cáritas, Association for the Conservation of the Amazon Basin and the National Institute of Natural Resources (INRENA). He has been a key player in the work to create the system of protected areas that now exists in Madre de Dios, including the Tambopata National Reserve. As a respected figure in the community through his position as Director and founder of Cáritas-Madre de Dios, he has worked with peasant and native communities to bring awareness and understanding to communities with little access to information resources.

César is a respected Ecologist, specialist in Biodiversity Monitoring and Conservation at the Smithsonian Institution. He has diplomas in Disaster Risk Management, and Water Resources Management, among others.
