Jessica Pisconte is a biologist with a degree  from the Universidad Nacional San Luis Gonzaga and a Masters in Ecology and Environmental Management from Universidad Nacional San Antonio Abad del Cusco. Her professional experience is focused on ornithology, natural resources, ecology and conservation of coastal, Andean-Amazon and tropical ecosystems. She is currently working in the investigation of mercury contamination in Amazonian fauna in Madre de Dios and is the assistant for the Mercury Program where the dynamics of mercury in this region to characterize the risk to human and ecosystem health is studied.
