Coordinator, Pro Agua II Project

Julio Magán is the coordinator of CINCIA's PRO-Agua II project, a collaboration between CINCIA, Wake Forest University, and Stanford University's Natural Capital Project that uses innovative modeling technology to empower Payment for Ecosystem Services (PES) models for watershed management and conservation in the Peruvian Amazon. 

Julio is research biologist specializing in conserving natural resources, biodiversity, and ecosystem services. Julio has more than 10 years of experience in conservation program management with work on projects in the Peruvian departments of Madre de Dios, Ucayali, Piura, and Tumbes. His work has focused mainly on the creation of sustainable economic models for the protection of biodiversity and ecosystem services, including non-forest timber products such as Brazil nuts harvesting, and the expansion of monitoring programs in National Protected Areas in the Peruvian Amazon.
