Dr. Roosevelt Garcia is the Coordinator of CINCIA's Ecosystem Restoration Program. Roosevelt García is an ecologist with a focus on tropical Amazonian ecosystems with experience in habitat types and plant biodiversity in  Peru, Ecuador,  and Guyana. His research experience has focused on understanding the influence of environmental and historical variables on the formation of plant communities and habitats in the Amazon, the ecological processes and ecosystem services that they generate, and the use of this knowledge in ecosystem conservation and restoration efforts. Before joining CINCIA in 2020, Roosevelt participated in the establishment of permanent plots to study carbon dynamics in Amazonian trees (University of Leeds, England)  and was part of the multi-disciplinary team at Cornell University that evaluated the impact of developing hydroelectric plants in the Amazon basin (post-doc at Cornell University, USA). Roosevelt holds a Ph.D. from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.
